Bei der Verwendung von Überleitungssystemen mit festen Luer-Lock-Anschlüssen bei Spritzen entsteht durch das Aufdrehen des Konnektors des Überleitungssets eine Eigentorsion des Verbindungsschlauches, die dauerhaft auf die Verbindung wirkt. Hierdurch entsteht das Risiko – begünstigt z.B. durch Flüssigkeit innerhalb der Verbindung bzw. im Lock –, dass sich der Schlauch des Überleitungssets löst, wodurch eine Leckage der Verbindung oder auch Verkeimung der infundierten Lösung möglich wird.

Durch die Verwendung einer „Swivel Nut“, d.h. einer Luer-Lock-Überwurfmutter, kann durch Aufdrehen dieser „Swivel-Nut“ die Eigentorsion des Schlauches bei gleichzeitig fest sitzendem Konnektor verhindert werden. Dennoch kann es insbesondere bei Applikation von Lösungen unter hohem Druck (Kontrastmittel, hochviskose Ernährungslösungen) zu einem selbsttätigen Aufdrehen der Verbindung kommen.

Transcoject hat dieses Problem durch einen zum Patent angemeldeten Anschluss gelöst, indem durch Verriegeln der „Swivel Nut“ bei angezogener Verbindung das ungewollte Aufdrehen zuverlässig verhindert wird.
Verschiedene Varianten dieser Ausführung sind darüberhinaus zusätzlich dazu geeignet, das Kontaminationsrisiko mit Keimen drastisch zu reduzieren, indem das Drehen der „Swivel Nut“ fern der Verbindung zwischen Spritze und Überleitungsset erfolgt.

In January 2020, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) conducted a routine inspection of Transcoject GmbH for the third time, following inspections in 2015 and 2017. The inspection, which took place over four days as scheduled, confirmed that the facility meets the requirements of 21 CFR Part 820 "QSR".
